meet the group
(in no particular order; just whatever comes to mind first)
David L: On paper, his title is “CFO of Operations.” He’s also in charge of the financial group, which I am a part of and so he’s the one who gives me things to work on. He’s extremely blunt & coarse with his words. For example, I just received an email from him asking me to come see him for what seemed to me a new project he wanted me to work on; but when I went to his office, he said, “oh uhhh, I don’t need you anymore, so you can go away.” That’s him being nice too. Usually, this type of attitude infuriates me, but I guess he’s an exception because I think he’s absolutely hilarious and I’m never offended by him. I should’ve told him I liked his haircut… maybe later.
Geeta P: She’s the accountant here. She’s really tough and curses like crazy. She’s not your typical lady; rather, she’s the complete opposite. But despite her rough character, she’s extremely nice. She’s constantly looking out for others; she’s like the mother here. The first day of my internship, she was the one who really helped me get settled down here. Oh and I love how she’s always wearing dresses; I’m not sure if she wears them cause they’re convenient but I like to think it’s because that’s her way of keeping in touch with her femininity.
Matija K: He’s the one I mainly work with. He & I work on projects together for David. He said he graduated last year, so he must not be too much older than I am, but I might be wrong, because I’m pretty sure he’s international (he has an accent); I’m guessing he’s from Russia. He’s also incredibly nice and understanding. I feel bad for him though, because he’s constantly getting hounded by David. I’m not sure why though; he’s always trying his best… maybe he tries too much?
Amy C: She was the HR, and she’s the one who helped place me in the company and get all the logistics down… but a few days after I started working, she was fired. I don’t know what happened. She was cool.
Harold W: He’s a CPA and was working on a specific project (I think it had something to with like the budget? idk). I’m not sure what happened to him. He was here for about a week and now he’s not. He sat in the cubicle directly in front of mine. But I don’t really care about his whereabouts; he was annoying. He would always be making personal phone calls — sometimes it was to his architect or about his architect, all the other times it would be to his friend Jordan (but I think they were more than just friends.. either that or they just had some kind of dysfunctional friendship). And on top of that, he was rude; he wasn’t that nice to Matija.
Joseph M: He’s the big man. He’s a chummy guy.
Mary S: She was the first person I actually interacted with when I first came. She introduced me to everything, gave me pointers, the in’s & out’s of the office, etc. She’s really friendly.
Brenda C: If it wasn’t for her, I would be completely lost when I work at the front desk. She’s extremely helpful, but I feel like bad for constantly calling her up when I don’t know what to do. I feel like I’m bugging her, but I still call her anyway, cause I need to. She’s really cool.
Euli G: She’s best friends with Mary. In fact, she was the one who helped Mary get the job. That’s all I really have to say about her.
Harry D: He deals with the legal stuff here. He’s pretty big, and he wears suspenders. I like him. He’s friendly and winks when he sees me, which would really creep me out if it was any other guy and it did at first, but I know his intentions are good, so I don’t get bothered by it. Oh & through my awesome creepin’ skills, I figured out he graduated from Harvard Law.
Gabriel D: He’s an asshole. I’m SO glad he’s on vacation this week.
Jeff S: He’s kind of an asshole too, but I’m feeling a bit better about him. He says “thank you,” and actually acknowledges me as a human being.
Karim C: He’s so cute! He’s like this short & stout guy with some kind of accent, and he’s really gentle. I like him.
Christy S: I’m pretty sure she’s Chinese.
Jake M: He’s 21 and already an associate director. He’s been working here since he was 17. Given, he probably got the position through connections (the company is really big on networking), but it’s still pretty impressive that he’s got a high position at such a young age. I thought he was hot, but he’s actually kind of really weird. He’s kind of in his own world, and to be honest, he’s kind of a pompous ass. I guess that’s what happens when you get rich young.
Peter S: He’s a hunk. He’s a gentleman. Also, he’s tall and has dark hair and he’s confident and he always looks people in the eye when he talks to them and he’s super nice. And on top of that, he’s the managing director AND he graduated from UPenn Wharton. I get so weak whenever he walks by.
John R: He’s really cool and nice. He looks like the quintessential American boy. He’s friendly and funny, kind of shallow. He’s got a funny laugh, which I find really cute.
Kimia S: She’s so posh. She’s super skinny and always dresses nicely; she takes care of her looks. We happened to be in the bathroom together, and I felt so incompetent standing next to her & looking at our reflections. I don’t ever want to experience that again.
MG: She’s the executive assistant to Joe. She’s stern but still nice. I had a weird experience with her before though; I walked in on her crying on the phone in the bathroom. It was awkward, and I didn’t know what to do.
Michael P: He’s really tall & skinny; looks a little nerdy. He’s nice & friendly; kind of odd though, but I still enjoy talking to him. I think he graduated from John Hopkins. I wouldn’t mind getting to know him a little more.
Ari S: He’s the only one I talk to the most outside of the office. I bumped into him on the way going out of the building, and then another time while walking to the bus station. I swear we had the same conversations those two times we met haha. He’s nice, too.
Nancy P: She’s been part of the group for the longest time, about 15 years I think? She never graduated college, yet she knows the most about how the company functions. She’s alright. She complains too much.
Rasheed S: He works with Geeta, and they get into fights often apparently. But I don’t mind him. He’s kind of funny, the way he is. He loves cookies, and he got excited when I walked in with a passion iced tea, because he thought it was a Shirley Temple. I’ve become his official scanner person, but I don’t mind because he’s appreciative and says “thank you” even though it’s not that big of a deal. This one time when I was working at the front desk, his daughter called for him, and it was the cutest thing ever.
There are a few others, but I don’t feel like including them. Not out of spite or anything.. I just don’t interact with them enough and/or I don’t even know their names.
I realized I said “he/she is nice” a lot, but I really mean it. It warms my heart that they’re nice. I like them.
